30TH REUNION 2015: The 30th reunion site is the Red Lion Hotel (on the river), 909 N. Hayden Island Dr., Portland, ORE 97217. The reunion is scheduled for Tues., Sep. 8th thru Sun., 13th 2015. Price of the Rooms is $99.00 (plus tax) per night.
29TH REUNION 2014 VIRGINIA BEACH, VA.: Our 29th reunion in Virginia was one of the best, even in view of a small turnout (163). A lot of health problems for those who were supposed to come. Our hotel wa right on the beach and eveyone loved the hotel and staff. The dinner and Photographer were also wonderful. At the dinner the winner of the GALVESTON Clock was Shipmate Paul Wooldridge and the winner of the 50/50 for $700.00 was Richard Jordan, (congratulations to both of the winners). On to Portland, ORE in 2015.
REUNION BUSINESS MEETING:  The reunion business meeting was held on Friday, the 11th.  At the meeting we voted on changes to the By Laws that Shipmate John Robinson Presented.  This bothered me because I was informed that I had to submit my change in writing well in advance of the meeting by the Secretary/Treasurer Tom "Soupy" Campbell.  After I researched the By Laws and Roberts Rules I find that,  1. Per our By Laws (Article 10) we conduct our meetings according to Roberts Rules.  2.   They state that any change to By Laws must be submitted in writing to the Secretary/Treasurer and Officers, in writing a minimum of 10 days before the meeting.  3.  Robert Rules also state that the full finicial report does not have to be made available to the membership, only to the officers, but, of course read to the membership at the meetings.  With this in mind I declare all of John Robinson's proposed changes to the By Laws made at the Virginia Beach meeting null and void.  If John Robinson still wishes to submit those changes he will have to use the proper procedures, and submit them in writing prior to the meeting.
Before I close this, in the 2004 meetings minutes, we already voted on what to do with any money left over, if we should fail.
DECEASED SHIPMATE: We have been informed by Lois Myers that her husband and our shipmate Paul L. Myers, FTGC, 59/61 & 65 passed away on August 29, 2014, he will be added to the Shipmates "DECEASED ROSTER" and remembered in the two (02) bell ceremony at the reunion dinner in Portland, ORE. His wife Lois is made a "HONORARY MEMBER". MAY HE REST IN PEACE.
DECEASED SHIPMATE: We were informed by Beverly Burgess (daughter of Harry Reich) at the reunion, that her Father and our Shipmate Harry Reich, GMG1, 61-65, passed away on September 18, 2014. He will be sorely missed at the reunions, hopefully we will still see Beverly coming to the reunions. He will be added to the Shipmates "DECEASED ROSTER" and was remembered in the Two (02) bell ceremony at the reunion dinner in Virginia Beach, VA. MAY HE REST IN PEACE.
